6th International Saxophone Festival of Amsterdam

DESCRIPTIONThe 6th International Saxophone Festival will be the first festival in the new building of the Amsterdam Conservatorium on the OOSTERDOKSEILAND The invited teachers will be Jean Denise Michat and Francisco Martinez together wilth Arno Bornkamp and Henk van Twillert.The festival invited also the Saxophone Quartet "Quad Quartet" from Portugal who will present there new CD with Music from the Dutch composer Chiel Meijering, Filip Davidse who will take us to the Orient and Raaf Hekkema will suprise us with Paganini studies.Niels Bijl will show his "Chant du Saxophone Tenor The Orchestra of Saxophones from Portugal will play the premier of a new composition from Chiel Meijering, "Blowing rather than Fucking" conducted by Hugo Marinheiro. Filipe Fonseca will conduct the "Orchestra Portuguesa de Saxofones" with the composition of Pierre Max Dubois "Homage a Hoffnung" The International Sax.group "Vento do Norte"will give a preview of there new tour true the BeNeLux in Mai The opening will be done by Arno Bornkamp "A mixed bag of music" and Portaits of Berio with Roberto Genova conducting the Berio Ensemble.
