DESCRIPTION

Transformations – choir and saxophone Secrets of music decoded/Looking for the Secret of Bach The surprising cooperation between Henk van Twillert and the vocal Ribattuta Ensemble leads us to a meeting between some of the old well-known compositions, and some brand-new unknown ones. Existing top compositions in combination with new ones, these last ones arising from the compositions of the old master Johann Sebastian Bach. First something about the well-known music: • Parts form the fifth and sixth Cello suites of J.S. Bach performed on baritone saxophone by Henk van Twillert, • and one of the famous motets of Bach – “der Geist hilft unsrer Schwacheit auf” - by the vocal Ribattuta Ensemble. Next about the unknown and adventurous music: • 4 brandnew compositions by the famous Dutch composer Chiel Meijering in which he tries to decode the secret of among others the Bach music, by looking at them from a different and modern perspective, and by using modern contemporary resources like computer. In the complete and hermetic world of Bach he looks for entrances in it, to discover new apparitions of music: a transformation to the 21st century, in which our ears already have got used to new an different sounds, and will be able to accept these new Transformation compositions in a obvious way, even more than the auditor himself on beforehand does suspect.
